Tuesday After- School Dance
Starting in kindergarten, I began taking dance classes. In 2nd grade, once I moved to the US I joined a dance studio and decided to start dancing competitively. As I spent every afternoon at the studio, my dance friends became my best friends
Since the beginning of the 2017-18 academic year, another student and I, Laura Hirvonen, have been leading a weekly after-school dance class that runs for an hour and a half. We have been choreographing dances, and organizing rehearsals all in preparation for a one hour dance show that we will be running in December (2017). Leading this class has taught me countless lessons about what it takes to be a leader, and how to organize and manage a group as big as 35, 6th-11th graders.
